During her early years she grew up in the Bowdon/Kansas area. At the age of twelve, her family moved to Burwell where she has resided for eighty years. She helped her parents in their grocery/gas store business in Burwell and later worked at Warren Sewell Clothing Company for forty-three years.
After retiring, Geraldine enjoyed cutting grass, working in her flower and vegetable gardens, and baking cakes. She had beautiful rose beds with over 40 varieties of hybrid tea roses. In her later years, she loved growing zinnias. She had a generous heart and often shared her vegetables, cakes and flowers with her friends in the Burwell community.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law, Ed Windom, and great granddaughter, Emily Grace Powell. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Windom and two sons, Ray Upchurch(Denise) and Larry Upchurch(DeIicia). She is survived by seven grandchildren: Gina Powell(Eric), Matt Windom(Staci), Dana Bibbee(Greg), Valerie
Ledbetter(Brant), Will Upchurch, Courtney Stogner(Tyler), and Abbey Lewis(Hunter). She is also survived by twelve great grandchildren: Nathan Powell, Carter Powell, Ellen Powell, Stewart Powell, Samuel Windom, Luke Windom, Isaac Windom, Levi Windom, Lexie Bibbee, Brock
Bibbee, Jaxon Ledbetter, and Sullyn Stogner. Other survivors include her brother, Elbert Eason(JuIia), her niece, Dottie Howard(Greg) her nephew, Scott Eason(Kim), her great nephews, Elijah Steed, Noah Howard, Daniel Eason, her great niece Elizabeth Eason, and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Shiloh United Methodist Church in the Burwell community with Rev. Jimmy Hearn and Rev. Bill Coady officiating. Music will be provided by Dottie Howard and Kim Eason. Matt Windom will deliver the eulogy. The granddaughters and great granddaughter will present Geraldine's family tree using red and white roses. Grandsons, grandsons- in- law, and great grandsons will serve as pall bearers. Interment will be in the Shiloh UMC Cemetery.
