He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Visiting at Ourso Funeral Home, Pierre Part, 8 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Monday. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church at 2 p.m. Monday, celebrated by the Rev. Duane Breaux. Entombment in St. Joseph Mausoleum. Survived by wife, Norma Gros Deslatte, Pierre Part; a daughter, Mickey Deslatte, Gonzales; a stepdaughter, Sandra Smiley, French Settlement; a son, Rickey Deslatte, Reserve; a stepson, Errol Perera, Pierre Part; two brothers, Harry Deslatte Sr., St. Amant, and Moise Deslatte Jr., French Settlement; eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Preceded in death by parents, Moise Sr. and Mary Prenell Deslatte; a daughter, Terry Madere; a sister, Dorothy Millet; and a brother, Jessie Deslatte. He was a member of VFW Post No. 5004 and American Legion Post No. 159, Reserve
