Mr. Gazaway was born on August 17, 1959 in Atlanta, GA to Charles and Novis Gazaway and passed from this life on February 16, 2019 in Shreveport, LA at the age of 59.

He is preceded in death by his father, Charles.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy; mother, Novis Gazaway; his brothers, Doug and wife, Vickie, Dana and wife, Wendy; his sisters, Deborah and husband, David, Dawn and husband, Del, Dianne and husband, Chuck; his children, David and wife, Kelley, Kristen and husband, Leslie; eleven grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. With his whole heart he loved each and every one of us.

David's passion was working with kids. Anything to do with kids, he was ready and willing to help. From Freedom Ranch, where he helped with foster kids separated in the system, to Rodeo Bible Camp, where he helped lead kids to Christ, to riding arenas where he touched lives, young and old, to umpiring ballgames, where he again, touched their hearts. He made a lasting impression upon many a young heart.

His grandchildren meant the world to him. He enjoyed visiting the tribe in Oklahoma, sitting at a Brave's game with his Maine kids, and helping Kelsey at a barrel run. He loved them all very much.

He was always willing to help anyone in need and expect nothing in return. David was always giving freely of his time and effort. The gift of "gab" was his, and anybody that would listen knows this. The coffee club was his saving grace when he could no longer work and those men became very important to him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

To honor David, honor Christ! We will see you again one day, my love, rest in peace.
