Elinor Mae Cauble was the forth child and 2nd daughter of Edward Cauble and Margaret Gallimore. [Margaret was the 5th child [of at least 8] of Jesse Gallimore and Ruth Wright..

According to Elinor’s death certificate, she was born 1 April 1869 in North Caroline [spec. County not identified, but highly likely to be Rowan]..

Eleinor can be found in the 1880 census living in Salisbury, Rowan , NC with her parents. She is also found in 1900 census; [same area] and 1907 City Directory . She is not employed.

In 1910 census Elinor [33] in living in Salisbury East Ware, Rowan , NC living with her mother, Margaret [77]. Elinor is shown as working as a Tailoress in a Retail Dry Goods store. Information indicates she can read and write; her mother cannot do either.

1920 census shows Elinor [42] is living with her mother [widowed]. Census indicates she is not employed.

1930 census is fraught with confusion.. By this time, her mother, Margaret, has passed away. ‘Ella’ is shown as being 54 yrs old. And her marital status is WD=widowed! All previous censuses have indicated ‘S=single]. Now the confusion is “Age at first marriage: 24]! [I have not been able to find any reference that she ever married. IF she had married, it had to be between 1925 [when mother died] and before 1930 census.] A mystery…..…

Margaret died 1 May 1932 in Salisbury, Rowan , NC. Her d/c indicates she’s buried at Old Lutheran Church Cemetery on 2 May 1932. No obituary has been found.
