Elvira Brown died in Louisville, where she had moved to from Owensboro just six months ago, to live with a daughter there. Born Elvira Thompson in 1827 in Kentucky, she married Jonah Q. Brown in Spencer County, KY in 1845. She and Jonah and family moved to Calhoun in 1857, and lived there until moving to Owensboro in 1888. Jonah passed away in 1900.
Services were held at St. Paul's Catholic Church, with burial in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery. She was survived by several children.
