Funeral services for Freddie J. Nesbitt, age 71 will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 705 S. Spruce Street, Vivian, LA. Officiating at the service will be Rev. Kent Rhoads, pastor of the Oil City United Pentecostal Church. Interment will follow at Core Cemetery in Gray, TX. There will be a time of visitation on Saturday, February 23rd from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Freddie was born July 1, 1947 in Jefferson, TX to his parents, Ferris B. Nesbitt and Ola Marie Collins Nesbitt and passed away on February 22, 2019 at Willis Knighton Medical Center after a brief illness. He worked in the oilfield, loved to fish and was passionate about always helping out the most important people in his life, his loving family, friends, neighbors and even strangers that he met along his journey.

Freddie is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Terry and Glen Nesbitt. Those left to cherish his memories are his loving daughters, Katharine Smith and husband, Doug of Atlanta, TX, Elisahah Kersh and husband, Bradley of Mt Enterprise, TX and Misty Tems of Vivian, LA and his sister, Marie Herring of Vivian, LA. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Trevor Smith and wife, Kelley, Heather Smith, Destiny Cook and husband, Garland, Christopher Tems, Caleb Kersh, Joshua Kersh, Dusty Kersh, Thomas Kersh and Charity Kersh; great-grandchildren, Brent Cook and Breanna Cook; his aunt, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Honoring Freddie as pallbearers will be Doug Smith, Trevor Smith, Christopher Tems, Caleb Kersh, Josh Kersh, Thomas Kersh, Bradley Kersh and Garland Cook.
