Alphy, age 90, passed away at Colorado Assisted Living Home in Littleton. She was born on a farm near Amherst the daughter of Lloyd and Carrie Smith. She graduated from Amherst High School. She married Gene Auwarter on December 21, 1936. She married John Zaucha in December 1971. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Eastern Star, and the Charm Circle.
Survivors include her children, Sharine Knapp, Virgene Wagner, and Carmen Auwarter, her sister, Betty Beckwith, 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by both husbands, her parents, two sisters, and two brothers.
A memorial will be held this summer in Britton.
