Jeremiah H. Quaid, whose serious illness was mentioned in Saturday's Journal, died at 8 o'clock that night, aged 43 years. He is survived by a wife and one daughter, three sisters and a brother. The deceased was a native of Auburn and a resident of Ithaca for many years. He was respected and popular and his death is mourned by a large number of friends and acquaintances. He was the sub-contractor in the stone work on the High School annex and was able to be about the city last week.

He was prominent in business circles and popular with his workmen. He served as city superintendent under Mayor Lang for a year, but resigned and went South in search of better health. He returned and with courage that astonished his acquaintances resumed business and maintained business relations until almost the day of his death.

He left a paid up life insurance policy of $5,000, and owned a good house and lot in a desirable neighborhood. His funeral takes place at 9 o'clock tomorrow at the Immaculate Conception church. Interment in the State Street Catholic cemetery.
