Clyde L. Grossnickle, 85, of Myersville, died Sunday, April 9, 2000, at his home. Born June 25, 1914, in Ellerton, Md., he was the son of the late Roy Wade and Maudie B. Blickenstaff Grossnickle. His wife, Edna M. Harne Grossnickle, died in 1997.
He was a lifelong farmer in the Myersville area. From 1970 to 1972 he was a deputy sheriff in Frederick County.
He is survived by a son, Wayne W. Grossnickle of Myersville; three sisters, Edna Pryor and Vada Bussard, both of Boonsboro and Sara Wilson of Pennsylvania; one brother, Abe Grossnickel of Hagerstown; three grandsons; three great-grandchildren; and his care-givers, Alex and Wanda McIntyre of Boonsboro.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Beulah Grossnickle, Ruth Rowland and Mae Wolfe; two brothers, Cyrus Grossnickel and Joe Grossnickel.
