He was a lifelong farmer in the Myersville area. From 1970 to 1972 he was a deputy sheriff in Frederick County.
He is survived by a son, Wayne W. Grossnickle of Myersville; three sisters, Edna Pryor and Vada Bussard, both of Boonsboro and Sara Wilson of Pennsylvania; one brother, Abe Grossnickel of Hagerstown; three grandsons; three great-grandchildren; and his care-givers, Alex and Wanda McIntyre of Boonsboro.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Beulah Grossnickle, Ruth Rowland and Mae Wolfe; two brothers, Cyrus Grossnickel and Joe Grossnickel.
