Mrs. Lena Gershenfeld (nee Addonizio), 81, of Scotch Plains, died on Sept. 20, 2007. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Bartholomew Church, 2032 Westfield Ave., Scotch Plains, on Tuesday, Sept. 25, at 10:30 a.m. Interment is at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Visitation will be held at the Preston Funeral Home, 153 South Orange Ave., South Orange, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Born on Oct. 20, 1925, Lee was devoted to her family, friends and work. She retired in 1988 after 40 years at St. Michaels Hospital, Newark, where she was a medical technologist in the Special Chemistry Department. She leaves behind her beloved friends, Grace and Tensie, with whom she worked side-by-side most of those years. Lee was a gourmet cook and expert baker. She spent her life giving to others, and she loved bunnies!

She was the devoted wife of Lester, loving sister of Sabatino, and loving sister-in-law of Catherine. She is survived by family, including sister-in-law Lorraine and brother-in-law, Marvin; nieces, Barbara and Nancy; nephew, Aldo; grand-nieces and grandnephews, cousins, and an aunt.
