Helen was born in Grove Township, Davis County to Alva and Fannie Johannesson Battin on November 8, 1930. In 1948, she married David Baker and they moved to Des Moines. Their son, Danny was born and she remained a homemaker until she went to work for EMCO Manufacturing. Through the years, she and her husband enjoyed camping, traveling, and giving their dachshunds lots of love and attention. Upon their retirement, they were able to spend 27 winters in Florida.
Helen is survived by her son, Dan (Sherry); grandsons, Daniel (Jodi) and Jeremy (Stacie); great-grandchildren, Mekhail, Trinity, Joslynn, Delaney, Emersynn, Ryan, Jordan and Jake; four great-great-grandchildren; brother, George Battin; and numerous nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, David; parents, Alva and Fannie Battin; brothers, Al, LaVerne, and Leo; sister, Fern Bishop; and a grandson.
