"KIRKWOOD.—On December 24, 1945, CARROLL E., beloved son of the late Jacob F. and Sarah E. [Adams] Kirkwood. Services from the funeral home of Leo J. Cook, 1701-03 Patterson Park avenue, on Friday at 2:30 P. M. Interment in Loudon Park Cemetery."
Carroll never married. His primary occupation was working for his uncle, Wm H Kirkwood, at the Hanover Market. He lived with the families of a number of different relatives during his life. His last known residence, 210 Hanover St, was listed on his 26 Apr 1942 WWII draft card. The WWII draft card also listed his mailing address as: c/o Wm H Kirkwood & Son, Hanover Market, Baltimore MD.
