Earnest Ashley Barsh, 83, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by his family.
Earnie proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and retired from the United States Postal Service after 31 years of service.
A service to celebrate Earnie's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2019 in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with Dr. Randy Outland officiating. Interment with military honors will be held in Willow Dale Cemetery.
Earnie is survived by his daughters, Emily Barsh of Goldsboro and Mamie Barsh Riggs (Scott) of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Brandie Felts (Travis), Stuart Harris (Sarah) and Lauren Barsh; and great-grandchildren, Courteney Felts, Miller Harris and Miles Harris. He is also survived by his step-grandchildren, Jordan Riggs, Scotty Riggs, Spencer Riggs and Debra Riggs; and step great-grandchildren, Blythe Riggs and Aubree Riggs.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Dail Boyette Barsh and son, William Ashley Barsh.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 1, 2019 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
