Services for Edward E. Hoehle Sr., district sales manager for Jones & Laughlin Steel Corporation, will be held at 3:30 p.m. today at National Funeral Home with Dr. Paul T. Jones officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
Mr. Hoehle died about 7:30 a.m. yesterday after a heart attack at his home, 4495 Chickasaw Road. He was 63.
Born in St. Louis, Mr. Hoehle had been a Memphian since 1924. He had been manager of the Jones & Laughlin Memphis district sales office since 1942. He joined the company in 1913 as a clerk in the St. Louis sales office. In 1924 he was transferred here as a salesman. He became assistant manager here in 1934.
Mr. Hoehle was a World War I veteran. He served overseas with the 89th Division and took part in the St. Mihiel and Meuse-Argonne offensives. He was discharged in the rank of sergeant-major.
He was member of the Idlewild Presbyterian Church, Chickasaw Country Club, Tennessee Club, Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce. He was a director of the Freight Bureau.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Grace Hortense Sams Hoehle; a son, Edward E. Hoehle Jr. of Detroit; a daughter, Mrs. James Tuholski of Evansville, Ind.; a brother, A. E. Hoehle of St. Louis; a sister, Mrs. A. J. Quevraux of Raleigh, and six granddaughters.
