Bernice was born on February 3, 1925, in Ashland, to Raymond and Nettie (Wynn) Cypher. She was married to her loving husband, Orie Rush for 79 years, until his passing on December 14, 2018.
She is survived by four daughters, Sharon Frijouf, Judith Rush, Brenda Rush, and Lana Rasper; and many wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Along with her husband, Orie Rush, Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; her loving son, Orie “Rod” Rush; grandson, Cory Rush; two granddaughters, Christy Rush and Jennifer Rasper; and she was the last surviving sibling of 12 children.
She was an amazing woman and will be missed by many! Bernice was lovingly described by her family as a wonderful mom, always putting her children and others first. She had a servant’s heart, and was always caring for everyone else before her needs. Bernice was the sweetest lady, and had a gift of giving to others. She had a natural beauty; was in a class of her own. She was also a wonderful cook and enjoyed providing meals for her family and others.
Calling hours will be from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 8, 2019, at Werner Gompf Funeral Services, ltd, 1106 Park Ave. East, Mansfield. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mansfield Cemetery.
