Carol G. Bahr entered eternal life on Easter Sunday, April 8, 2007 at the Sheboygan Senior Community. She was born March 7, 1920 to Anton and Vera (Schuchardt) Opgenorth in rural Kohler. She attended Kohler High School and Sheboygan County Normal School, later teaching in a Sheboygan County one-room school. During World War II she worked at the Kohler Company in the manufacture of shells to support the war effort. She married Chester Bahr in 1946. They spent their married life operating Clear View Fur Farm in the Town of Sheboygan.

"Grandma" had many varied interests, but most involved helping and caring for others. She was active in Cub Scouts with her sons, homemakers, ladies circle at church, women's auxiliary in the Town of Sheboygan Fire Department, visiting shut-ins, and sharing her talents as a baker with cookies and treats. In her retirement, she volunteered with the Department of Social Services, helping others to learn the English language. She was a dedicated letter writer and could always be counted on for a card or letter with words of love and encouragement.

Carol is survived by her two sons, Chester (Luann) of Plymouth and Dale (Victoria) of Winneconne; grandchildren Rebecca, Sheboygan; Jennifer (John), Minneapolis; Adam, Oshkosh; Kate, Maui, Hawaii; four great grandchildren; her brother, Earl (Betty) Opgenorth of Lakewood, WI.; her sister, Marion (Rev. Harold) Filbrandt of South Haven, MI.; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1987 and brothers Vernon and Melvin.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at St. Luke United Methodist Church. Rev. Roger W. Clapp, Pastor, will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Entombment will take place at Garden Terrace Mausoleum.
