DOW — Timothy James Bechtold, 54, died at 8:40 p.m. on Sunday, June 26, 2016.
He was born December 21, 1961, in Alton, the son of Elmer and Laura (Wunderlich) Bechtold.
He worked for National Maintenance as a deck hand and enjoyed hunting waterfowl and spending time on the river.
Surviving are one daughter: Erin Miles (Thomas) of Griggsville, Illinois, his mother; Laura Bechtold of Godfrey, one sister and three brothers, Stephan Bechtold (Sandy) of Jerseyville, Marcia Wheeler (Patrick) of Godfrey, Mark Bechtold (Karen) of Godfrey, and Michael Bechtold (Susie) of Godfrey, two grandchildren, Kaitlin and Carolyn Miles, many nieces and nephews, and his best friend C. J. Springer.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Bechtold, and one brother, David Bechtold, and many geese and ducks.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton, where funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday July 1, 2016. Father Jack Lau, OMI will officiate.
Burial will be at St. Michael's Cemetery in Beltrees, Illinois.
