Donald was born March 1, 1911, a son of William and Gertrude Koerner Deany. He married Anna Dohman on June 30, 1934, in Cullom, Illinois.
He is survived by his wife, five sons, Donald (Joyce) Deany Jr., Jerome (Carol) Deany, Bernard (Dorothy) Deany, Raphael Deany, Thomas (Mary) Deany, one son-in-law, Dennis Clark, 18 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, three sisters, Josephine Merten, Mary (William) Elliot and Clara Kinkade and one brother, Michael Deany.
He was preceded in death by his parents,one daughter, Barbara Clark, one daughter-in-law, Mary Deany and one great-granddaughter, three brothers, Leroy, William and Vincent a sister, Veronica Quigley and an infant sister, Mary Bernice Deany.
Mr. Deany graduated from Cullom High School in 1929. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Cullom. He was a lifelong farmer in the Cullom and Charlotte area.
He will be remembered for his keen sense of humor and for the love of his family. He was the last great-grandson of the Sullivan family, pioneer settlers of Mona Township, to farm part of the Sullivan land. He served on the Cullom Elementary District 441 School Board. He was an avid baseball fan and was well known for his baseball pitching. He pitched for the Deany baseball team.
