Mrs. Corene Anderson Spivey, age 74, of Route One, Lyons, Ponderosa Community, died early Morning morning, October 14, 1991 at the home of a daughter in Augusta, after a long illness. Born in Toombs County, she was a daughter of the late Solomon Anderson and Florence Harvey Anderson. She was the widow of Willard Spivey, and was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Lyons. She was a former employee of Globe Manufacturing Co.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Mary Askew of Meldrim, Ga., Mrs. Margaret Holton of Oak Park, and Mrs. Georgia Woodall of Augusta; four sons, William H. Spivey of Gerard, Ga., Elbert, Willard G. and Bernard Spivey, all of Lyons; two sisters, Mrs. Loree Williams of Savannah and Mrs. Louise Walsh of Vidalia; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, October 16, 1991 at 3:00 p.m. from the Liberty Baptist Church in Lyons with Rev. Don Gibbs officiating. Interment was in the Old Mount Zion Cemetery near Lyons. Jones-Stewart Funeral Home of Lyons was in charge of arrangements.
