Rev. Oswald E. Anderson, 85 of Gerry, Chautauqua County, New York, passed away onThursday, August 19, 1993.

He was born on February 16, 1908 in Follansbee, Brooke County, West Virginia, a son of the late Charles V. Anderson & Blodwyn Mae Powell-Anderson.

Mr. Anderson was a graduate of Roberts Wesleyen College & had also taken additional training at the University of Pittsburgh & the State Teachers College at Fairmount, West Virginia.

Ordained into the ministry in 1945, he was for 6 years, Pastor in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, 3 years at Wellsville, Ohio, 3 years at Huntington, West Virginia, & served as the District Superintendent of the West Virginia area of the Pittsburgh Conference for 6 years. He subsequently was Pastor of the church in Ontario, California for 2 years before moving to West Kendall. He moved here in April to assume the pastorate of the Jamestown Free Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Sarah Burlingame-Anderson whom he married on May 11, 1933 in East Liverpool, Columbiana County, Ohio. Also surviving are 3 daughters; MarthaAnn Cooley & Kathryn Mae Armstrong bo h of Rochester, New York,& Doris Jean Anderson, at home..

He was laid to rest in the Gerry Village Cemetery.
