Mrs. Abanatha died at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington after a three-week illness following a fall at her home. A Missouri native, she was the widow of Curan Abanatha and a member of the Church of God at Naylor, Missouri. Her parents were Johnny and Ardie Lee Willis Hanniphan. Her first husband was Ross Lee Shultz to whom she was married in 1904 at New Madrid County, Missouri.

She was survived by her two daughters Mrs. W. H. Proctor (Annie Abanatha) and Mrs. Lester Lewis (Gladys Schultz), three sons, Herman R. Schultz, Chester Schultz and John Abanatha, a sister, Mrs. Anna Guillion, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Abanatha was preceded in death by one son, Charles Claude Schultz.
