Jason Carroll, born December 13, 1943 in Oregon City, Oregon passed away March 9, 2019 in Portland, OR after an extremely hard and swift battle with cancer. Jason was a graduate of Colton High School and earned his masters from the University of Oregon. He served 21 years in the United States Army with several tours to Vietnam, Somalia, and Korea. During his military career he received many accolades including 4 Bronze Stars and the Legion of Merit. Jason retired from the Army in 1988 at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel with a ceremony held at Ft. Lewis, Washington.

After a career in the military he “retired” to raise his family and work the Colton area farm he desperately loved and grew up on. He raised a successful herd of Simmental beef cattle, christmas trees, and grass hay.

He was a life member of Molalla VFW post 3973 and devoted much of his time helping other military veterans through his various positions with the Veterans of Foreign Wars. In 2013 he lead the 16,000 Oregon members of the VFW as State Commander earning All American Honors.
