Laura Mae Louesa Jameson was born to William Henry Jameson and Hester Lucille (Davis) Jameson Brown. Her father died when she was very young, and her mother married second to the surname Brown.

Laura Mae Louisa West, 84, of Amarillo died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2002.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. Troy Richardson, pastor, and the Rev. Richard Dickerson of Amarillo officiating. Private burial was earlier in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell St.

Mrs. West was born in 1918 to pioneer parents in Dalhart. She worked in missions and churches all over Amarillo, and finished a degree in the seminary extension program at Amarillo. She settled into the community of Temple Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cora Albert; three sisters, Minnie Lee Grace, Lena Mae Lovelady and Myrtle Ellison; and a stepson, Glen Wayne West.

Survivors include a son, Wayne Walker of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a daughter, Julie Foster of Anchorage, Alaska; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five stepchildren, Clovis West and Bernita Lockhart, both of Clarendon, Catherine Hasselbacker of Galesburg, Ill., and Mabel Moore and Joan Bergeman, both of Mankato, Minn.; 22 stepgrandchildren and their children and grandchildren; three brothers, Jack Brown of Myrtle Beach, S.C., L.S. Brown of Dumas and Tom Brown of Fort Worth; and a sister, Lucille Cook of Prescott, Ariz.
