Deborah Adams-Broughton (Debbie to most) was born on February 17, 1956 with her twin brother Ronald. They were born to Gloria Adams and the late Herbert Adams Sr. Debbie attended public school in Queens until 10th grade and then moved to St. Croix, US VI. Debbie attended & graduated from St. Croix Central High School in 1974.
Debbie moved back to New York and worked in the financial district for years. In 1980 Debbie became a mother for the first time to her daughter Kariesa McFarlane and five years later she gave birth to her son Jared McFarlane. Debbie was a loving and devoted mother to her children. Debbie worked at the Bronx YMCA for 9 years until her passing. Debbie loved her job. Debbie organized and held events, in particular Bon Appetit in September. Debbie was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church In Jamaica, Queens.
In 2017 Debbie married her love Charles Broughton. Debbie was loving, loyal, funny and one of a kind. Debbie was always there when you needed her. Debbie never complained about her health issues or her physical pain. Debbie leaves to celebrate her life, her mother Gloria Adams, husband Charles Broughton and the entire Broughton Family here and in the south, her children Kariesa and Jared McFarlane, her grandchildren, Amiya McFarlane and Anthony White, her siblings, Alexis Martin (Jim), Angela Smith (Tyrone), Herbert Jr Adams (Joyce), Ronald Adams, Joanne Adams and the late Diane Adams, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and family and friends. Debbie will be sorely missed by all.
