James Lynn Huffman, 60, of Sullivan passed away at 3:50 p.m. Tuesday March 19, 2019 in Mason Point, Sullivan.

Lynn was born March 17, 1949 in Normal, Illinois, the son of Jesse L. and Wanita Carmichael Huffman.

He was a member of the Maroa United Methodist Church, had been Past Master for the Maroa Masonic Lodge # 454 AF & AM, had been a member of the Bloomington Consistory and Ansar Shrine and he had also served as the Assistant Fire Chief for the Maroa Volunteer Fire Department. Lynn graduated form University High School in Normal and then went on to receive a BS degree from Illinois State University, an MBA from the University of Illinois, a PhD from the University of Idaho and graduated Suma Cum Laude from the Worsham College of Mortuary Science. He had also attended the Texas A & M Fire Academy. Lynn worked as a funeral director and embalmer for Dawson and Wikoff Funeral Homes in Decatur for twenty years, the Mittendorf-Calvert Funeral Home in Champaign for three years and the Brower-Wann Funeral Home in Lewiston, Idaho for four years. He had been a avid hunter and sportsman all over the US and Canada.

Surviving are his daughter, Jamie Lynne Huffman of Charleston, South Carolina; brother, Randall Huffman of Jefferson City, Tennessee; friend, James Birge of Mt. Pulaski and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carrolyn and brothers, Wayne and Carroll.
