Marjorie A. Morrison, 93, died suddenly on Tuesday, March 8, in her home at The Mayflower, Winter Park. Mrs. Morrison was born in rural Polk County, Iowa, April 23, 1907, daughter of William B. Acheson and Mamie McCauley Acheson. She attended school in Ames, Iowa after the family moved there and later received B.A. and M.A. degrees from Iowa State University in Ames. She taught Home Economics at Iowa State, Texas women's College, Denton, Texas, Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, Purdue University, Lafayette, Indiana, and Southern Illinois University Carbondale, Illinois and also worked as children's librarian at the Ames Public Library.

She married Clarence E. Morrison of Ames in September, 1947. After Mr. Morrison's death in 1987, she relocated to Winter Park to live near her sisters, Mrs. Weaver Connell and Mrs. Albert Koch.

Besides her husband and sisters, she was preceded in death by a brother, W. Donald Acheson. She is survived by two nephews, four nieces, 18 grad nephews and nieces, and several great grand nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at The Mayflower at 10 a.m. Friday, March 16.
