John retired from DuPonts Repauno Gibbstown in 1986, where he was employed as a storeroom clerk. He was the originator of the Woodbury Gardens Civic Assoc., Miss Woodbury Gardens Beauty Pageant and Miss Deptford Beauty Pageant. John was a member of the Deptford Mixed Bowling League, Swedesboro Men's League for 33 years, Deptford Township Special Officer member during the 1960's, Deptford Township BOE, Santa Claus of Pitman for 35 years, Independent Umpire's Assoc. for Baseball for 32 years and Dream Park Umpire at Cooperstown NY. He was the oldest high school and youth umpire in both states, retiring at the age of 92.
John is survived by his son, John (Cynthia) Crain III, Sandy (Carl) Monticolo, his sisters Alverta, Ethel, Shirley, grandchildren Eric Sr., Marissa, Destin, great grandchildren Eric Jr. and Gavin.
Interment: Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro, NJ.
