Charles M. Kolk, of Bartlett, born Jan. 13,1915 in Chicago, IL. He met with his Lord on March 10, 2004 at Central Outage Hospital, surrounded by many of his family. Charles was the loving and devoted husband of Marion C., nee Hoyner; and father of Raymond, Robert and Thomas, ret. C.F.O. He was the proud grandfather of eight grandsons and four granddaughters; eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Reverend Raymond Kolk, SVD; and sister, Delores Jaskowiak of Sauk Rapids, MN.

Charles was the founding partner of C&J Typesetters of Chicago, an organization known for its involvement of the production of yearbooks and annual reports throughout the Midwest. He was an active member of the North Shore Printers Guild and former usher for Saint Monica Parish in Chicago. He had enjoyed traveling with his wife throughout the world and visiting with his grandchildren throughout the United States. He was an inspiration to many Filipino students who pursued their graduate classes in the United States, often referred to as their "Stateside Daddy". Those who knew Charles understood the real meaning of humility, compassion and a devotion to his faith. He was truly a "gentle man". Visitation Friday at The Countryside Funeral Home, Bartlett. Funeral Saturday to Resurrection Catholic Church, 30W350 Army Trail Rd., Bartlett, IL. Mass 10:30 A.M. Cremation private.
