Stanley P. Benben of Medina passed away early Sunday morning April 26, 2015 at the Villages of Orleans Rehabilitation and Heathcare Center in Albion, New York.
Mr. Benben was born in Basom, New York on April 7, 1926 son of the late Ignace and Stella (Pietrowski) Benben and he lived in the Medina area all of his life.
He served in the US Army during World War II and he and his wife Frances (Wagner) Benben were married October 25, 1952.
He was a dairy farmer in the Town of Ridgeway until retirement and then he was in business with his son in the excavation and paving business.
Mr. Benben enjoyed his family and was a member of Holy Trinity Parish/St.Mary's RC Church, Medina, New York and was a life member of the VFW in Akron, New York.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Denise Benben and by siblings, Chester Benben, Joseph Benben, Stephen Benben, Lottie Szczepaniak, Victoria Sulminwiz, Katherine Kozel and Walter Benben.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Benben; a son, Paul "Jim" ( Sandra) Benben of Medina; a daughter, Pam (Graham) Owen of Chicago; three grandchildren, Cristy (Caleb) Rhodes of Meadville, Pennsylvania, James Benben of Medina and Graham Owen of Chicago; great grandson, Gaven Rhodes; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Wednesday from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM at the Bates, Wallace and Heath Funeral Home, 38 State Street, Middleport.
Members of Holy Trinity Parish will meet at the funeral home Wednesday at 8:30 PM for a Vigil Service.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at Holy Trinity Parish/St.Mary's RC Church, Medina where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. Fawls.
Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, West Shelby, New York.
