Third born son of Herbert & Mildred Kearns. He grew up in Hingham, Massachusetts & graduated from Hingham High School in June 1944. He volunteered for the army during later stages of the second World War & served in Italy during post-war occupation. After his discharge in 1947, he took advantage of the GI Bill & attended Springfield College where he graduated in 1951. He worked for the Civil Service as a Physical Eduation Teacher for children of armed services officers. He served in South Korea & Japan. Returning to the states in 1961, he became a Physical Education Teacher for the East Hartford School system. In 1966 he worked in the same capacity for the Pontiac, Michigan School System. In 1970, he moved to Dorchester, Massachusetts where he began teaching Mentally Challenged children. He retired in 1993 & spent his last years living in Quincy & Halifax, MA.
