The death of Charles Warren Bumpus of Wareham occurred at his home Saturday, August 18, at the age of 78 years. He was the son of Charles W. and Mary E. Bumpus. In 1883 he was united in marriage to Miss Adeline Manimon. He was a life-long resident of this town. Although in ill health for some time, he was active until within two weeks of his death.

Surviving are his wife, 11 children and several grandchildren; also two brothers, Benjamin C. and Linus Bumpus, and two sisters, Mrs. Nettie Maxim and Mrs. Matilda Haskins ...[illegible] ... church of which he was a member. James B. Tripp of Fairhaven officiated, assisted by Mrs. N. B. Welch, pastor of the church, and Edward Lockwood of Onset, who pair tribute to him. Mrs. James Tripp and Mrs. Laura Walker rendered two selections, "In That City" and "Will the Circle Be Unbroken?"

There were many relatives and friends present, and the floral tributes were many and beautiful. Burial was at the Agawam cemetery at East Wareham.
