Death of Joseph Todd

By special despatch we learn of the death of Joseph Todd at his residence in Platte County, on the 28th inst. He was one of the pioneers of the Platte purchase having settled near the farm on which he died when the Indians held possession of that country. The old home now stands on the next farm, which was the issue house of rations to the Indians, in that early time. He emigrated to this state from Kentucky, where one of the counties bears the family name, and his connection is one of the largest and most influential in the Platte Purchase. He died full of years and honors, a man of strict integrity, sterling sense and as honest as the day. We will never see the like of Uncle Joe Todd.
