Allen David Bowling 69 of Left Hand, WV formerly of Bandytown, WV died and entered unto his Eternal resting place Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at CAMC Memorial after a battle with cancer.
Allen was a Vietnam Veteran with the 82nd Airborne Division in the U S Army. He was very patriotic and was proud to have served his country. He was retired from Eastern Coal and Bethlehem Steel Coal Co. with 30 years. He was a proud member of the UMWA and president of his local union.
Allen enjoyed the outdoors and he enjoyed hunting and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his Dad & Mom, Murell and Anna (Legg) Bowling of Bandytown.
He leaves behind five children, David and Michael Bowling of Franklin, NC, Joshua and Heather Bowling of Van, WV and Makayla Bowling of Fredericksburg, VA. He also left behind to mourn his loss, his sister; Vicky (Harold) Vance of Hendersonville, NC, brothers; Rick (Linda) Bowling of Madison, WV and Shelly (Pam) Bowling of Barrett, WV. He left behind grandchildren, nieces and nephews who loved him very much.
The family would like to thank all those who cared for Allen during his illness, especially his two friends and caraegivers, Renee’ Truman and Eddie “Pretzel” Carder. It was greatly appreciated.
Funeral service will 11 a.m. Sunday, March 31,2019 Handley Funeral Home, Danville, WV with Rev. Glenn Jarvis officiating. Burial will follow in Mid Ferrell Cemetery, Bandytown, WV.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
