Obituary:
Riley W, Flory, 96 of 1922 Wear-Miller Road, Eldorado, died Monday, Nov. 23, in Troy at the home of his eldest son, John E. Flory. He was born Aug. 5, 1896, in Douglas County, Kan., the son of Elmer L., and Mary Ellen (Montgomery) Flory. On Dec. 24, 1919, he was married to Ruth N Beeghley, who preceded him in death on May 17, 1956. He and his wife resided at Cerro Gordo, Ill. where they were farmers. They were members of the Old German Baptist Church, where he served as a minister for many years. After retirement in 1961, he moved to Eldorado near some of his family. Survivors include three sons, John E. Fory of Troy, Marvin E. Flory of Lawrence, Kan., and Norman Flory of Eldorado, one daughter, Anna Hess of Smithsburg, Md; 18 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; two brothers Henry Flory of Baldwin City, Kan., and Arley Flory of Lawrence, Kan.,; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harvey Flory; a daughter-in-law, Eulla Belle (Shuler) Flory; one grandchild and one great-grandchild. Funeral services were Friday, Nov. 27 at Price's Creek Old German Baptist Church, south of Eldorado, with the Home Brethren officiating. Burial was Saturday, Nov 28, at East Franz Cemetery, Cerro Gordo, Ill. Girton-Schmidt-Boucher Michael Capel, West Manchester, was in charge of arrangements.
