D. Frank “Pop” Horner, Sr., 74, of Chattanooga, died at his home on Wednesday, June 5, 2013.

Frank graduated from Central High School and attended the University of Chattanooga. He served in the Tennessee Army National Guard from 1957–1963. Frank retired last year from Burner Systems International where he worked as a Senior Buyer. He was a member of East Lake Baptist Church and later a member of Central Baptist Woodmore.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Launah Horner and sister, Patty Harden.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shirley Horner; children, Frank Horner, Jr. of Soddy Daisy, Donna (Tommy) Head of Ringgold, and Deborah (Carl) Deal of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Sarah Horner, Jared (Ashleigh) Horner, Jennifer (Kevin) Booth, Joshua and Jacob Deal; great-granddaughter, Harper Booth; brothers, Richard (Retha) Horner and Ronald (Linda) Horner; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, June 7, and from 11 a.m.-noon on Saturday at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be at noon on Saturday, June 8, at the funeral home with Pastor Dennis McNulty officiating. Entombment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 6221 Shallowford Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Richard Peters, Dr. Derek Holland and Hearth Hospice for their care and concern.

Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory, and Florist, 404 South Moore Road.
