"Richard Paul Anderson, 79, of Howard, Ohio passed peacefully in his sleep at his residence Friday, March 9, 2018. He has entered into eternal rest with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and is now united with his loving family members who preceded him, most recently his first grandson Adam Richard Tracht.
Richard was the son of C. Paul Anderson and Lena Pearl (Glasgo), of Millersburg, deceased. He was the youngest sibling to sisters Margaret Collins and Virginia Lawhead, also deceased. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years... children... He was able to visit with his grandchildren just prior to his passing... He was brother-in-law and friend to David (deceased) and Edwina Kaeser and Paul and Mary Kaeser. He had numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved. His beloved cat was a constant companion.
He served two years (1958-1959) in the United States Army 4th Armored Division stationed in Nuremberg, Germany as a Tank Operator. He was employed by the State of Ohio as a district auditor manager and certified fraud examiner, District 7, for 34 years with a strong work ethic taking great pride in what he did. He enjoyed serving at the election polls for a number of years, and was a Howard Township Trustee for several years. He served as President of HopeNow Furniture Bank and was a current member of its Executive Board.
He was an active servant of the churches to which he belonged and served them in various capacities: on councils, teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir and even bowling in a church league. He appreciated and loved the lifelong friendships he made through the church.
He enjoyed traveling, especially through the national parks. His mischievous sense of humor as well as his enduring love and support will be missed by all who loved him in return. Rest easy, Richard…we will see you again.
