Mary A Montoya Ybarra Durr was born on May 11, 1925 and passed away at home on May 4, 2018, one week shy of her 93rd birthday. She had the most beautiful smile that warmed the hearts of everyone she met. She was preceded in death by her first husband Ted Ybarra and son Kenny, who was killed in Vietnam in 1968. She leaves behind her second husband Norm Durr of 30 years. She moved back from Oceanside and to Gardena from December 1, 2016 to May 4, 2018 due to a massive stroke she had in November 2016. She is survived by daughter Debbie and daughter-in-law Sylvia Hernandez; daughter Kathy; son Teddy; adopted son Felipe Perez and family; grandson Kenny Ybarra and great grandson Jaden; grandson Michael Ybarra and wife Adrienne and great grandchildren Elijah, Ellena and Evalina. She had numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She became a Goldstar Mother in 1968, was in the Chapman Avenue Choir, was Chapman Avenue and Peary Jr. High PTA president and President of Gardena Emblem Club from 1975 -1976. She was employed by LAUSD for over 20 years and continued on in the Oceanside School District. In her earlier days she loved painting, volleyball, bowling, tennis and singing. She enjoyed crocheting blankets and slippers for everyone, singing, going to concerts and plays, traveling, and a good movie or book. She had a green thumb especially with orchids and roses, and above all, she enjoyed "FAMILY and FRIENDS".

Her Viewing and Rosary will be on Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 6pm to 10pm with Rosary at 7pm at the Lighthouse Memorials and Receptions - McMillan Center at 1016 W 164th St., Gardena, 90247 and Funeral Services on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 10am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 440 Massey St., Hermosa Beach, 90254. The Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery 5835 W Slauson Ave., Culver City, 90230.
