"Mrs. Shirley Ilene Abell, age 47, of Louisville, KY returned to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, April 3, 2019. Mrs. Abell was born on January 24, 1972 in West Memphis, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ilene Ashley; brother, James Ashley and sister, Linda Jane Ashley.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her wife, Stephanie Abell; sister, Brenda Ashley Griggs (Bryan); father-in-law, Carroll Abell and mother-in-law, Phyllis Abell and a host of family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Open Door Community Fellowship (3938 Southern Parkway, Louisville, KY 40214) with burial at 1:30 p.m. in Lebanon National Cemetery.
Friends may pay their respects on Monday, April 8, 2019 from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.)"
