SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Carl Allen Dingman, 55, formerly of Elk Rapids, died Saturday at St. Francis Hospital in Santa Barbara.
He was a former machinist with Super Tools LCI in Elk Rapids. He also was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict
Born in Elk Rapids on Sept. 5, 1933, he was the son of Orin W. and Tressia (McCune) Dingman.
Surviving are three daughters, Carla J. Dingman of Greenville, Mich., Tina M. (Dingman) Finney of Rapid City and Jerrie J. Gaylord of Ohio; two sisters, Donna Booth of Williamsburg and Edith Sheffer of Elk Rapids; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and three brothers.
Graveside services will be announced at a later date by the Elk Rapids Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes.

A graveside memorial service for Carl Allen Dingham, 55, formerly of Elk Rapids, who died June 10 at St. Francis Hospital in Santa Barbara, Calif., will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Circle Hill Cemetery off Vinton Road in Williamsburg. The Rev. Charles Shields will officiate. Arrangements were made by the Elk Rapids Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes.
