Funeral at Reck, May 20, 1938
MRS. LAURA MAE MEANS, born May 10, 1868, died May 19, 1938, age 70 years 9 days, at the home of her daughter, MRS. ERNEST PRUITT. She married J. N. MEANS in 1889. He died January 1, 1938. To this union were born ten children, five surviving: MRS. ERNEST PRUITT of Ringling, MARGARET MEANS of Garber, CRUCE MEANS of Orr, BAILEY MEANS of Healdton and CHAMP MEANS of Orr. Also two children were reared in their home, JACK and LOU MEANS. She is survived by nine grandchildren.
Mrs. Means and Uncle Johnnie, as they were known, were old timers in this county. Having settled here in the early days, she was a member of the Baptist Church at Center Point, south of Ringling.
