Harry Caruthers Burke was born on April 16, 1876 in Davidson County, Tennessee, the son of Captain Robert Caruthers "R C" Burk (1853–1903) and his 1st wife Annie (Hessey) Burk.
He was married to Eva Taylor (1874–1951), the daughter of Jessie Taylor and -- (Bowles) Taylor.
An elevator operator at Davidson County Court House and living at 1300 McChesney Avenue in Nashville, Davidson County, Harry was 72 years old and married when he died of pulmonary TB and bronchopneumonia at Vanderbilt Hospital on December 31, 1948. Burial was January 1, 1949 in Spring Hill Cemetery, Nashville.
