Jim was a loving father, husband, son, brother, grandfather, uncle, brother-in-law, neighbor, and friend. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy.
On February 15, 1969, Jim married the love of his life, Mary Lee Bland. They were married for fifty years.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil E. and Birdie Marie Lucas Watson; and sister, Eunice Thiele.
Jim is survived by his wife of fifty years, Mary Bland Watson, of the home; three sons, Michael (Tara) Watson, of Jonesboro, Bryan Watson, of Pocahontas, and Stevie (Jody) Watson, of Jonesboro; four sisters, Joyce (Martin) Baltz, of Pocahontas, Carolyn (David) Frankenberger, of Kearney, Nebraska, Betty (Tommy) Stockwell, of Pocahontas, and Cecilia Watson, of Mountain Home; three grandchildren, Cassie, Alex, and Jonathan Watson; brother-in-law, Jerome Thiele, of Rogers; and numerous other family and friends.
Burial, with military honors, will be in the Nelson Cemetery, in Reyno.
