POQUOSON - Geraldine Insley Zasimowich, 79, passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 29, 2016 in Poquoson surrounded by family. She was a lifelong native of Poquoson, and was a member of Victory Church and Trinity United Methodist Church. She was very active in her community as a member of Good Neighbors, Ladies Fire Auxiliary, a hospital and homeless shelter volunteer, a member of Rebekah's, and Miss Bubba Boots.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Richard "Dick" Zasimowich; parents, Hartness and Mabel Insley; sister, Judith Insley; and brothers, Hartness "Buddy" Insley Jr. and Greg Insley.
She is survived by sons, Bryan, Gerald , Paul and Miles; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Joan Medlin; and brother, William "Sonny" Insley. A Celebration of Geraldine's life led by Pastor Buddy Chapman and Pastor George V. Insley, Jr. will be held Saturday, December 3, at 5:00 PM, immediately followed by visitation until 8:00 PM, all at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson.
