Stanley Eugene Lowe, 88, died on Friday, April 12, 2019, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Stan was born in Watonga, Oklahoma to Willis K. 'Pete' Lowe and Emma Maycel Foster. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruth; and sister, Della Lou. Stan was survived by his son, Stanley (Sandy) E. Lowe, Jr. and wife Julia; daughter, Vicki and husband David Bott; brother, Don W. Lowe and wife Alice; seven grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and a multitude of other family members and friends. Stan and Ruth were married for sixty-four years before her passing in 2015. Stan served two years in the US Army, seeing duty in the Korean War, before becoming a member of the US Air Force. He retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service. The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal was one of the many medals he received during his Air Force career. Stan's post-retirement job was as a letter carrier with the US Postal Service. He worked an additional twenty years there before his final retirement. Some of the things Stan enjoyed during his life included participating in high school sports, fishing, working and holding offices in his church, and volunteering for the Salvation Army at Christmastime. He said he was as excited to see under-privileged children receive an unexpected Christmas bicycle as the kid was excited.
Instead of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Salvation Army (2445 Prior Ave., Roseville, MN 55113). To donate goods to the Salvation Army, go to https://satruck.org/. The family thanks Stan's church home, North MacArthur Church of Christ. In addition, the family would also like to express appreciation to and recommend the staff and facilities of Heritage Point of Oklahoma City. These people gave abounding loving care to Stan during the last two years of his life. They show the ultimate respect to their residents in all stages of life. Services to cele-brate his life, with full military honors, will be 2 pm, Tuesday, April 23, 2019, in the Chapel of Buchanan Funeral Service.
