Theresa Elaine Canzanella Shubert, 84, of Boerne, passed away on Dec. 12, 2018. A private family service will be held at a future date.
Theresa was born on Aug. 19, 1934, in St. Louis, Missosuri. She was raised in Brooklyn and Queens, New York, and made her way to Texas in 1952. She loved the community of Boerne and was active for many years as a Den Mother to Cub Scouts in Packs 102 and 478. Through the years she worked part time at the iconic Bleu Boy Café and as a sales rep for Tupperware, Avon and James Avery. Theresa was a loving mother and devoted to her family.
Theresa enjoyed sewing, painting and arts and crafts, placing multiple items every year in the Kendall County Fair and winning cherished ribbons. She was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, the Boerne ISD PTA, and Boerne High School Band Boosters. She loved music and had an extensive collection of records from classical to country to musical soundtracks. Theresa also enjoyed baking and decorating elaborate cakes, customized for all occasions.
Theresa is survived by her sister Elvira Canzanella; her children Linda Shubert Waldrep (Randy), Jonathan Shubert (Sandy), Teresa Shubert, Frank Shubert (Diane) and Stephen Shubert (Debbie); 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Theresa was preceded in death by her parents Lawerence and Norma Canzanella; her sister Roberta Eythe; and an infant brother.
