Benjamin F. Harvey, 80 years old, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Henry B. Harvey, near Mountain Lake Park. The other children living are Elliott C. Harvey, member of the late Maryland House of Delegates; John S. and George W. Harvey. His record as a Union soldier was unusual. He enlisted in Barbour county, West Virginia, in 1861, serving 13 months. he then re-enlisted in the Tenth Cavalry, U. S. A., where he served three enlistments, covering three years. Mr. Harvey was wounded at the battle of Gettysburg. He returned to Garrett County at the close of the war and married Christina Stilled, who survives.
