Survivors include wife Elinor, three sons, James of Seattle, WA., William of Cross Lanes WV, and Joseph (Claudia) of Ashtabula; three daughters, Suzanne King of Albuquerque, NM, Paulette Peckol of Easthampton, MA., and Lori (Mark VanWormer) Peckol of Seattle, WA; eight grandchildren, Erin, Robyn, John, Ian, Karl, Aja, Jeremiah, and Cara Bella; three great grandchildren, Kyleene, Jourdin, and Tara . preceded in death by son, Karl, who died on the Edmund Fitzgerald in 1975.

Wife Elinor Elizabeth “Bettie” Peckol nee Bustard graduated from Cleveland Heights High School in 1938 and attended Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. She was the supervisor of the Food Stamp Department with the Ashtabula County Department of Human Services, retiring in 1992 after 23 years of service. She was also a charter member of OCCL. She directed the St. Joseph’s Neighbor to Neighbor Food Pantry from 1992 to 1997 and enjoyed traveling and gardening.
