Dorothy was the child of Rachel Malinda Stroupe and L.L. Campbell. Her mother was married four times, creating some confusion about Dorothy's siblings. This is a line-up of Rachel's children and husbands as I have found them:

Rachel married James Talent in Saline, Arkansas in 1884. I do not see any children from this marriage. There is no record of what happened to James.

Rachel married Jesse Damascus Bush in Jefferson, Arkansas in 1889. They had eight children: Effie, Mabel, Susie, Ruth, Hester, Oliver, David, and Evelyn. They are all linked in Find A Grave. Jesse Bush died in 1903, the same year that Evelyn was born.

Rachel married L.L. Campbell in 1904 in Pulaski, Arkansas. Daughter Lucy was born 1905/1906 and Dorothy in 1908. I cannot find any record of Mr. Campbell's existence before or after the marriage. There is a marriage record and his signature clearly says "L.L. Campbell." Dorothy's sister Lucy from this marriage is linked in Find Grave.

Rachel married Wesley Phillips in Pulaski, Arkansas in 1911; they moved to Oklahoma afterwards. They did not have children together but Rachel's children from her previous marriages lived with them. Rachel is buried with the last name of Phillips, but she and Wesley may have been separated before Wesley's death--they were not living together in 1940. I have not been able to definitively identify Wesley before his marriage with Rachel. He appears on 3 censuses with the clearly-recorded name of "Wesley H. Phillips," but their marriage record says "J. W. Phillips" (Rachel's information is listed perfectly on the marriage record). By trade Wesley was a tool repairman and sharpener.

Dorothy and Lucy were listed on some censuses with the last name of Bush--I guess their mother was consolidating--but they were the birth children of L.L. Campbell. Dorothy had the nickname "Dollie" as a child, but I do not know if that followed her into adulthood.

Dorothy married Calvin Price in Oklahoma in 1922 (she was 14) and they had a son named Jack in 1923, then they soon separated. Jack was deaf and lived in the Oklahoma School for the Deaf growing up. Dorothy worked as a filing clerk to support herself.

In 1938, in Guthrie, Oklahoma, Dorothy married Hugh Thompson, who was an insulation mechanic at an oil refinery. Her son Jack, aged 16, was living with them in 1940. Hugh and Dorothy had three children together, two daughters and a son). Confusingly, these same three people are listed as children of Jack Price, Dorothy's son from her first marriage, in his obituary, but they are actually his half-siblings. Dorothy was still married to Hugh at the time of his death n 1971.

Dorothy married Edward Wren in 1972. Edward Wren was also previously married. They were married for 4 years, until his death in 1976.
