Agnes Edmonston Evans, a resident of Niles, IL and a native of Baton Rouge, La, a loving mother and grandmother, passed peacefully on Wednesday April 17, 2019 at Alden of Northmoor at the age of 96. She loved doing jigsaw and crossword puzzles, gardening, visiting family, playing poker, making pralines and gumbo and watching soap operas. She was an avid reader and always had her bible on her nightstand. Survived by 2 sons; James Rudolph Evans and Ronnie Marion Evans and 1 daughter; Phileene (Fe) Evans. Four grandchildren; Stacie Evans Coles, Shane Evans (Anita), Lori Evans Easley (Shannon) and Kirk (Thumper) Evans. 11 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren and 1 great great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents Roscoe and Ida (Daigle) Edmonston, husband; Rudolph Sidney Evans, sisters; Lilly Edmonston Hacker, Wanda Edmonston Mire, Ida Edmonston Roddy and brothers; Joseph Edmonston, Leo Edmonston, Alton Edmonston, and Murphy Edmonston. Thanks to Alden of Northmoor and Family Hospice for their excellent care and kindness.

Also, a special thanks to Roma Rzemieniecka for loving and caring for mom and our family for the past 5 years.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 20, 2019 from 3-8pm at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines, IL 60016 (Corner of NW Hwy and Rand Rd.). Additional Visitation will take place at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Hwy, Gonzales, Louisiana 70737 on Thursday, April 25, 2019 from 10am until the time of service at 11:30am. Interment to follow at Hope Haven Garden of Memory in Gonzales, LA.
