NIECE OF COL. GEORGE MCDONALD, ESQ.
Elizabeth was the daughter of Peter Covenhoven (aka Conover) and Sarah McDonald. She apparently moved from New Jersey to Indiana in 1819 with her uncle Col. George McDonald (1768-1820) and his family.
Col. George, a lawyer, was a mentor to Indiana Supreme Court Justice Isaac Blackford. He was part of the legal team that brought the famous case of Polly Strong vs. Hyacinthe Lasselle to the Indiana Supreme Court in 1820, a case which abolished slavery in Indiana.
Elizabeth married Elisha Boudinot on Nov. 3, 1820, in Knox County, Indiana.
